There were a couple of places named Tickey. As the name implies, they had a lot of ticks.
Tickey Creek runs through Princeton. It empties into Lake Lavon.
There was a Tickey School about 2 miles south of Culleoka.
There was another one 3 miles east of Blue Ridge. This community was also called Hopewell.
The Tickey post office opened on May 29, 1888 with James C. Payne as postmaster. The name was changed to Viney on March 8, 1890. The Viney community was north of Princeton.
