McKinney – Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Turrentine-Jackson Funeral Chapel here for Mrs. John Cates, 66, of McKinney, who died at 9 a.m. Wednesday in her home here. She was a native of Kentucky.
The Rev. Earl J. Rogers conducted the services. Burial was in Wilson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Cates, the former Miss Sarah Ann Davidson, was born Feb. 19, 1896. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Davidson. She and Mr. Cates were married in 1904. She was a Methodist.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Murphy of McKinney and Mrs. Eva McIntire of Burger; four sons, Andrew, Jesse, Leslie and Willie Cates, all of McKinney; three sisters, Mrs. L. A. Riley of McKinney, Mrs. May Simpson of Princeton, and Mrs. Alta Morris of Howe; three brothers, Montry, L. V. and Heneral Davidson, all of McKinney.
