John Wesley Boils
BOILS FAMILY OPERATED STORE IN EARLY DAYS OF PRINCETON

John Wesley came to Bonham, Texas in 1883 from Burksville, Kentucky in Cumberland County. He was born July 9, 1862, the son of Mary Daniels and Sevier (Bur) Boils in Albany, Kentucky, in Clinton County. He was one of nine children.
In Bonham he met and married Lizzie Bell. They taught school in Bonham. In 1894 they came to Collin County and taught in Allen and around Culleoka. They had two children, Bailey Jerome, born June 23, 1898 and Orlean born Oct. 1, 1899. Orlean died in Princeton on Aug. 20, 1900.
In 1903 they returned to Kentucky where Lizzie Bell Boils died. John returned to Princeton with his two sisters, Vian Boils Boswell, and Anne Boils Pennycuff. He later returned to Burksville and married Mary Cash in Byrdstown, Tenn., on Sept. 6, 1904. Mary was born Dec. 15, 1885 in Burksville, Ky., and she was the daughter of James Matthew and Jemima Bowen Cash.
John and Mary bought a grocery store in Princeton in 1909 from Alma Wilson. They operated the store until the 1920's. Then they bought a farm in the womble District of Princeton. The farm is still owned by the Boils family.
John and Mary had seven children, Bertha Alice, James (Jim) Matthew, Bonnie ( Stanfield), Grady Nathaniel, infant who died at birth, Leo and Emmitt Leon (twins).
