S. J. LEWIS
Daily Courier, July 6, 1904
Residence of S. J. Lewis, 13 miles northwest of McKinney.
West Collin is noted for its rich, productive soil and magnificent big farms and beautiful country homes. The above is a model farm residence, with well kept lawns, trimmed shrubbery and all the conveniences of nearly any city home. Twenty-one years ago, Mr. Lewis came from Tennessee and settled in this county, having but little means to start with. Now he is owner of the above home and 150 acres of the richest black land to be found in North Texas. His attention has been directed to raising wheat, corn, oats and mules. Last year from these sources and from rentals he realized over $3600 as his part from this land. [Accompanying photo did not copy well.]
