RUNAWAY ACCIDENT.
Farmersville, Collin County, Texas, Dec. 12 – Sunday about noon at Copeville Walton Ivey, Mitch Cotner, and Bud Gilder were seated in a buggy on their [way] from church, which was situated about one mile from town and on the way the horses took fright and ran, the horses and buggy struck a tree, hurling horses, buggy and riders all into a heap. Walton Ivey sustained a fracture of one thigh and several cuts about the head, and is not expected to live. Mitch Cotner, seriously sprained back and leg, and Bud Gilder struck the tree with sufficient force to bound back into and crosswise of the buggy bed where he was found unconscious, and thought to be internally injured. The buggy was smashed to pieces and the horses seriously injured.
Later Ivey has since died.
