COLLIN COUNTY MAN DIES IN DALLAS HOSPITAL
C. G. Cockrell, 74, Of Near Murphy Succumbs Saturday Following Long Illness; Services Sunday.

C. G. Cockrell, 74, farmer near Murphy, Southeast Collin County, for more than sixty years, died in a Dallas hospital Saturday following a long illness.
Mr. Cockrell moved to Murphy from his home in Alabama at the age of 14 and became active in welfare and civic work of the community soon after. He was a member of the first Baptist Church of Murphy.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Alton Blankenship, Denton; two sons, Carl Cockrell, Mertens, and Weldon Cockrell, San Antonio, and two grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of Murphy by Rev. Ernest Gilbert. Burial was at Murphy.
