DIES IN CITY
McKinney Courier, February 4, 1920
Mrs. J. W. Howard, 33 years, died at her home, 2823 Carlisle street, in Dallas, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. She had been ill several days of influenza-pneumonia. She was before her marriage Miss Rosa Bridges, daughter of Mrs. Rachel Bridges, and lived several years in McKinney. She was a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Smith of this city.
Surviving her are her husband J. W. Howard, a two-year-old son, and her mother, Mrs. Rachel Bridges. Also the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. A. R. Ereckson, Ed Bridges, Arthur Bridges, and Joe Bridges of Allen, and Mrs. Grover Huffines of Richardson.
The body was shipped to Allen this morning for burial and was received by the J. P. Crouch & Co., undertakers of McKinney. She was reared at Allen.
