Desert - SH121 and SH160 north of Blue Ridge

Desert store

The community of Desert is located in the area where SH121 leaves Collin County on the east, where Collin, Grayson and Fannin Counties meet.  The name is supposed to be derived from some early settlers, who deserted their camp fire when they heard noises.
Wm. A. Webster was appointed postmaster on January 7l 1893. The post office was closed on December 15, 1904.
