AT THE NORTH END OF BENGE STREET
IN 1891, WHEN THE STREET WAS THE
HOME OF THE AFFLUENT FAMILIES OF
McKINNEY. MR. ABERNATHY ESTABLISHED
THE FIRST ABSTRACT COMPANY IN A GROWING
TOWN, A BUSINESS CARRIED ON IN LATER YEARS
BY HIS SON, HARVEY ABERNATHY. THE HOUSE
IS QUITE LARGE, EVEN BY THE "GAY '90'S"
STANDARDS, BUILT OF 6 INCH CYPRESS SIDING,
LAVISHLY TRIMMED WITH THE POPULAR
"GINGERBREAD" OF THE PERIOD.
