DEATH’S DOINGS.
Elbert H. Crouch died at 8 o’clock Wednesday at his home near Walnut Grove.
Mr. Crouch had been an invalid for four years, caused by his hip being broken by a kick from a horse. He had been sick two weeks, and his condition was considered serious several days prior to his death as his son, Rev. Austin Crouch, pastor First Baptist church of Corinth, Miss., was telegraphed for, and reached his bedside Tuesday night.
Mr. Crouch was born in Falls Branch, Tenn., in the year 1851. He came to Texas sixteen years ago and settled in McKinney. he had been twice married. His first wife was Miss Adelaide Newell, whom he married in Tennessee. She died in McKinney in 1889. He was married again to Miss Leah Jones, who survives him.
Mr. Crouch was a member of the Baptist church and truly a good man. He bore his affliction with christian fortitude, and was prepared to meet his God. He had many friends in McKinney, and Collin county, and was a cousin to J. P., D. A. and H. H. Crouch
