THE ISAAC KIMSEY FAMILY
Biography.
The Isaac Kimsey family came to Collin County in the year of 1864 from Missouri. They settled southwest of Farmersville where he purchased a large acreage. He married Margaret Adams who was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on January 7, 1827. Their children were Mary Abigail, James M., William Hugh, Mattie, Thomas J., and Robert Lee. All of the children were born in Missouri except the youngest son, Robert Lee, who was born in Leonard, Bonham County [sic, she means Fannin County.] (1866).
A grandson, Clifford Carpenter, lives in Farmersville. Mrs. Herman Goldblotte also lives in Farmersville. A grandson, Kim Carpenter, lives on the homeplace. Other relatives living in the area are Mrs. M. L. Rickerson of Mesquite, Mrs. Gladys Bickley Watson of McKinney and Mrs. Maxine Kimsey Watson of Farmersville. C. T. Kimsey, Mrs. Hubert Kimsey and a grandson, Alton H. Kimsey still live on the Robert Kimsey homeplace, although the government bought much of the land for Lavon Lake.
Robert Kimsey had seven grandchildren, Alton H. Kimsey of Farmersville; Robert B. Kimsey of Garland; Eunice Kimsey McDonald of Blue Ridge; Margaret Kimsey Harrington of Farmersville; Linda Watson Yeats of Shreveport, Louisiana; Jeanette Bickley Bland of Richardson, and Rita Bickley Roose of Farmersville. Robert Kimsey has 21 great-grandchildren.
