Mrs. J. B. Gray
MRS. J. B. GRAY IS CALLED TO HER REWARD MOTHER’S DAY
Plano Star Courier, May 19, 1927
On Sunday morning, May 8, the day for honoring the others of our land, Mrs. Tennie Jane Gray, aged 56 years, 1 month and 27 days and wife of the late J. B. Gray of Allen, breathed her last at 3:10 o’clock at the home of her son, J. B. Gray, Jr., of near Parker. Although her departure was not unexpected, the suddenness of her death was a shock and brought sadness to the community where she had lived so long, and where she was loved, honored and esteemed by everyone.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Spring Creek at 11 o’clock Monday morning, conducted by Rev. E. B. Jackson of Wylie, assisted by Rev. J. T. Brown of Blythe Chapel and Allen. Following the services at the church the body was conveyed to the cemetery and lowered to rest beside the grave of her beloved husband who passed away in 1924.

Early in life she united with the Methodist church of which she was a devout member and prominent worker.
On December 28, 1890, she was married to J. B. Gray of Richardson. To his union were born seven children, all of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Earl Cook, Lucas; Mrs. Clyde Biggs, Murphy; Mrs. Joe Knight, Garland, J. B., Clarence and Floyd Gray of Parker and Roy Gray of Dallas.
Deceased is also survived by her aged parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers were: Dave Morrow, J. W. Biggs, Beeman Morrow, Joe Knight, Earl Cook and Clyde Biggs.
The beautiful floral offerings evidence the love and esteem in which the deceased was held by her many friends and acquaintances. - McKinney Courier Gazette.
