CLARENCE JENNINGS
Newspaper, 1985. Funeral services for Clarence Clifford Jennings, 84, of Anna, who died today at his residence will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Anna, with Rev. Robert Helsley officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery with Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home in charge. He was born May 23, 1901 in Anna, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gilbert Jennings, and married Willie Grace Ashmore, Dec. 22, 1944 in McKinney. He retired from the Veterans Administration in McKinney, was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. Survivors include his wife, Willie of Anna; two sons, Mike Jennings of McKinney and Tom Jennings of Anna; one sister, Beulah Jennings of Waxahachie; two grandchildren, Christie and Josh Jennings. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Friday. |

Bridgefarmer A business change has taken place in the Western Auto Store recently established at East Louisiana Street and which Dr. J. S. Bridgefarmer and Lewis Gay were proprietors, with Lewis Gay as Manager. Dr. Bridgefarmer has purchased Mr. Gay’s interests and is now the sole owner of the store, Mr. Gay retiring. J. J. Jennings of Fort Worth, an experienced young business man in this line, has been engaged by Dr. Bridgefarmer as manager, and has come to McKinney and is now in charge, as will be noted by a large advertisement in the Daily Courier-Gazette and the Weekly Democrat-Gazette. Mr. Jennings is a native Texas and has run stores of the Western Auto kind for several years: hence, he is a business adjunct to our city. He is a young man of most pleasing address and fortunate is Dr. Bridgefarmer in getting such an able young man to run and manage his business in this city. Dr. Bridgefarmer is one of the city’s outstanding business men, property owners and tax payers, being engaged in the jewelry business and has a large clientele as an optometrist. Dr. Bridgefarmer also owns a Western Auto Store at Waxahachie. |
