Biography
George Jefferson Dotson was born in 1809 in Tennessee and was married to Sarah Smith of Kentucky. It 1853 they came to Collin County to make their home, bringing their five children with them. Three grown children remained in Arkansas and after coming to Texas two more children were born to them. George Jefferson and Sally Dotson are thought to be buried in the Snow Hill Cemetery south of Blue Ridge.
Their children were: William, Elisha, Nancy Dotson McNerner, Isaac, who married Mary Jane Hanson, George Dotson, Mary (Polly), Stephen, Simon, Elizabeth Dotson, who married James N. Hanson, and Malissa (Lissa) who married ___ [sic] iKirk.
