LESLIE GILBERT OF ALLEN PASSES AWAY MONDAY
Leslie Andrew Gilbert, 53, prominent Allen resident, passed away Monday afternoon. He was a postal employe and civic leader in the community, where he served as school trustee. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Born March 25, 1910, in Baird the son of Andrew J. and Mary Cox Gilbert, he had resided at Allen for the past 15 years. He was married to Frankie Elizabeth Fondren, Oct. 22, 1938.
Surviving are his wife; son, Ronald Leslie Gilbert of Allen, brother, Joe Gilbert of Garland.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Allen Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Milton Greer, Baptist minister of Dallas, with burial in the Allen Cemetery, Harris-Horn Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers: J. D. Goodman, Lee Roundtree, Henry Cundiff, Joe Masters, Alvis Story, Fred Day.
Honorary pallbearers: Clyde Bailey, Clay Miller, J. C. Herring, A. B. Ingram, Tommy Miller, and Hampton Hickman.
