PLANO MAN DIES AT CITY HOSPITAL

Charlie Cheatham, well-known South Collin Mason, of Plano, passed away at the McKinney City Hospital Sunday night. Funeral services and burial were to be made at Murphy this (Monday) afternoon at 4 o’clock.

Charlie Cheatham, aged 70 years and four months, resident of South Collin for more than 60 years, died in the McKinney City Hospital Sunday night.
The deceased was a native of Jackson, Mississippi. He came with his parents to Collin county 63 years ago, and with the exception of a year or two, spent all that time in the Murphy community. His home was just north of Murphy.
He was a member of the Murphy Methodist Church and also a member of the Plano Masonic Lodge. He had been in ill health for the past eighteen years.
Funeral services were held in the Murphy Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. E. B. Jackson of Pilot Point, and the pastor, Rev. G. C. Randolph. Burial followed in the Murphy Cemetery.
The deceased is survived by one brother, Hon. Tom R. Cheatham of Houston, who was here for the funeral and burial.
