When the deceased was seventeen years of age her parents moved to Texas, settling on Whiterock, west of Plano. The Collier old home place is now owned by J. W. Shepard of Plano. The family were several weeks on the road in making the trip to Texas, having moved here in wagons, pulled by oxen.
Mrs. Fletcher was married to John E. Fletcher west of Plano. He died twenty years ago.
The deceased is survived by four children: Mrs. John Haggard, Plano; Willie Fletcher, Bowie, Texas; Mrs. Nannie Thornbroughs, Crane, Texas, and Frank Fletcher, who resides with his mother. Two children preceded their mother to the grave. There were Walter Fletcher and Pierce Fletcher.
Mrs. Fletcher was the last of a family of six children to be claimed by death.
The funeral was largely attended and many beautiful floral offerings were placed on her newly made mound.
The Examiner joins in the sadness over the departure of this good woman. The Grim Reaper is steadily thinning the ranks of the old settlers, so many of whom have been our life long friends.
