Funeral services for Charley Smith Holley, 68, of Melissa who died Sunday at North Texas Medical Center, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Melissa Cemetery with Rev. Montia Setzler officiating. Interment was in Melissa Cemetery with Harrington-Bratcher-Dickey Funeral Home of Plano in charge of the services.
Holley was born May 24, 1918 in Garland, the son of James and Janie Holley, and married Opal May Ruyle, Jan. 19, 1946 in McKinney.
He was a retired shipping clerk for U. S. Brass and a member of the First Baptist Church of Melissa.
Survivors include his wife, Opal of Melissa; daughter, Regina Welch of Melissa; three brothers: Jess Holley of Dallas, Jim Holley of Blue Ridge; Jack Holley of Lufkin; three sisters: Clemmie Cottle and Faye Brooks both of McKinney, Betty Dobbs of Princeton; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Holley was preceded in death by a son, Russell Holley.
