A. W. Allen Was On Visit In Home Of Daughter

A. W. Allen, 70 years 4 months and 17 days old, a resident of South McKinney since 1913, died suddenly at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lee Kelly, in Longview, Saturday morning, Jan. 6 at 1 o’clock.
The body was brought overland to McKinney by the Sam J. Massie & Son funeral home, who had charge of funeral services held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the King Memorial Baptist church, of which he was a member, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. O. Key. Interment followed in the Mt. Olive cemetery beside the grave of his deceased wife, who died Jan. 7 last year.
The deceased was born Aug. 19, 1863, in Henry county, Alabama. He is survived by five children, H. E. Allen of West, Texas; Mrs. Lee Kelly of Longview, Mrs. Effie Wade, Mrs. Carmilla Wright and Mrs. J. D. Orr, of McKinney; by then grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. M. E. Kelly of Alabama; and a half brother, L. A. Bolton of Colquit, Ga. He was a member of the Baptist church and of the Masonic lodge, members of that fraternal body having charge of services at the graveside here Sunday afternoon.
