21ST FAMILY REUNION HELD AT FINCH PARK
Several States were represented at the Twenty-First annual reunion of the - Stroup- Littlejohn- Grisham families, held Sunday in beautiful Finch Park in McKinney. A large attendance was present not only representing many different cities, but three States, Texas, Oklahoma, and California.
Officers elected were Sims Littlejohn, Chairman succeeding Tom Bailey; Pleasant Bailey of Dallas, Secretary, succeeding Mrs. Riley Boren, who was named Treasurer.
These reunions are held on the second Sunday in August each year.
A delectable repast was spread at noon, everyone bringing well-filled baskets. The meal was greatly enjoyed by everyone present.
A program of music and speeches was presented in the afternoon. Miss Nettye Stroup, who is connected with the Oklahoma City Mission, rendered several delightful musical numbers. A quartette from Dallas was present to assist with the program.
Resolutions were adopted on the passing of those in the family during the past year. They were Mrs. O. J. Stroup, Mrs. Leo Stroup, Mrs. John T. Grisham, Malcolm Stroup, Mrs. S. S. Stroup, all of this county, and Charley Russell of Vera, Texas.
