JOHN WESLEY FOOTE III FAMILY
Biography.
John Wesley Foote III, oldest son of Phillip, was married in Orange County, Indiana, on September 29, 1840, to Elizabeth Wininger, daughter of William Wininger. She was born February 1, 1824, in Indiana and died at Millwood, February 18, 1875, of blood poisoning from a carbuncle.
John Wesley entered the Confederate Army August 1, 1863, and was mustered out May 25, 1865. He was in the 16th Regiment, Texas Cavalry, Company F, under Captain W. H. Taylor. He received a bounty of $519. 13 at the war’s end.
John Wesley died May 6, 1868, of “grippe.”
Both are buried at Millwood Cemetery, near Lavon and Royse City, Texas.
They had eleven children:
I. Samuel: b September 20, 1841, Indiana; d. July 29, 1843, Indiana.
II. Mary Jane: b. January 19, 1844, Indiana; d. December 21, 1930, Clift, Collin, Texas

III. Julie Ann: b. April 14, 1846, Indiana; d. September 28, 1911 Campbell, Texas. (Buried at Millwood.)

IV. William: b. December 23, 1848, Millwood; d. November 10, 1850, Millwood, where he is buried.
V. Druscilla; b. November 20, 1850, Millwood; d. about 1901 in Oklahoma perhaps.
VI. Martin Luther: b. December 8, 1852, Millwood; d. September 25, 1933, Lavon, Texas
VII. John W.: b. January 1, 1858, Millwood; d. in 1930's in Cleburne, Texas.
VIII. Phillip: b. August 5, 1855, Millwood; d. April 21, 1911, Campbell, Texas.
IX. James Binkley: b. December 2, 1860, Millwood; d. February 21, 1937, Desdemona, Texas
X. Martha Ellen: b. October 2, 1863; d. October 23, 1880, Millwood. Never married, buried at Millwood.
XI. Harvey Robert: b. August 15, 1866; d. July 28, 1881, at age 15 in an accident.
