DEATH COMES TO MRS. J. W. BROWN EARLY SUNDAY

Was Born Here – Parents Were Early Settlers of Plano.
Mrs. John W. Brown, aged 63 years, 6 months and 13 days passed away at the family home two miles northeast of Plano Sunday morning at 2 o’clock. Deceased had been in feeble health for the past few years. About two weeks ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis which resulted in her death at the above stated time. All of her children, with the exception of one son, Sid H. Brown, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, were at her bedside when the end came. Her son in New Mexico, had been here for several days upon two different occasions during the past three weeks with his mother and left for home Friday of last week.
Funeral services were held in the Plano Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by the pastor, Reverend Ealy J. Patton, assisted by Reverend W. T. Thurman. Interment followed in the Mutual cemetery, this city.
Parents Early Settlers.
Mrs. Brown was formerly Miss Addie Dye, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Henry Dye, who were among the early settlers of Plano and South Collin. She was born here. She was married to Mr. Brown on December 9, 1880. A few years after their marriage, they moved to their present farm, where they had lived for the past forty-two years.
To this union were born six children, four daughters and two sons. One daughter, Mrs. Eula Kendrick, passed away ten years ago. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. J. D. Brent and Mrs. W. L. Carter, Dallas; Mrs. J. B. Wootton, Denton, Sid H. Brown, Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Tom Brown, Dallas. She is survived by fourteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and by three sisters and one brother – Mrs. J. H. Bowman and Mrs. J. L. Aldridge, Plano; Mrs. Robert Coleman, Dallas and Dr. Tom Dye, who resides a few miles west of Plano, and numerous other relatives.
The deceased professed faith in Christ early in life and united with the Methodist church. She was a devout Christian woman and a regular attendant upon all services of the church until a few years ago when her failing health would not permit her to attend church. Her husband has been a member of the official board of the Plano Methodist church for many years. He is a the present vice chairman of the board.
Funeral services were largely attended. The floral offering was profuse and beautiful, attesting the esteem and love in which she was held by her multitude of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were her four grandsons: John D. and James Brent, Sidney Kendrick and J. B. Wootton, Jr., and S. E. Brown and Houx Huffhines.
