John Wesley , son of Jesse and Elvira Addington, came to Collin County in 1877 from Water Valley, Mississippi. He was a farmer and rancher as well as a bricklayer. He lived first in Parker, but purchased 306 acres of land near Clear Lake in 1879. He was married first to Martha J. Price and second to Mrs. Fannie Martin.
