Spring Creek
Spring Creek was an early name for the Routh community. The Spring Creek post office opened on June 10, 1850, with James C. Vance as postmaster. It was discontinued on May 8, 1851. The school was called Spring Creek.
There was another Spring Creek community northwest of Plano.
The Barksdale community, located northwest of Lebanon, was also called Spring Creek.
The creek named Spring Creek runs diagonally across the southern part of Collin County. It eventually runs into Rowlett Creek.
