MRS. RETTA HORN OBSERVED HER 74TH BIRTHDAY
Weekly Democrat, October 3, 1940
Mrs. Retta Horn, of of McKinney’s beloved elderly ladies, celebrated her 74th birthday Sunday. In honor of the occasion a birthday dinner was prepared and served in her honor at which were present her daughter, Mrs. Ona Waddill and son, J. F. Waddill; Charles Chandler and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Stewart and son James. The birthday cake was old-fashioned pound cake which Mrs. Horn baked and entered in the cake contest at the County Fair last week, winning a prize on her entry.
Throughout the day Mrs. Horn was remembered with telegrams, birthday cards of congratulations and gifts and the occasion proved to be one of the happiest celebrations in her life time.
