Funeral services for Mary Cordielia “Cordy” Harris, 79, of Kalamazoo, Mich., who died Friday at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Ussery officiating. Burial will be at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
She was born Sept. 6, 1910 in McKinney, the daughter of Will Francis and Emma Phillips Wright. She married William Elbert Harris Sr., on Sept. 1, 1928 in McKinney. She worked on the assembly line for Sutherland Paper Co. and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are a son, William E. Harris, Jr. of Portage, Mich; two daughters, Mrs. Roger “Nelda” Ver Hage of Lawton, Mich. and Mrs. Douglas “Marilyn” Hayden of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Harris of Portage; two sisters, Lois Wilson of McKinney and Metzaleane Hayes of Tucson, Ariz; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
