Milstead
Early B. Milstead was born August 22, 1929, in McKinney, Collin County, Texas, the son of Early Brite and Lanie Cummings Sisco Milstead.
His maternal grandparents, Robert Theodore and Lou Ella Jordan Sisco, moved from Hohenwald, Murray County, Tennessee to Nevada, Texas in 1910. They purchased a farm northwest of Nevada which they operated until the death of Mr. Sisco on April 24, 1945. The paternal Grandparents, Nancy Rains and John Beecher Milstead moved from Tennessee to McKinney, Texas about 1885. They also purchased a farm which they operated until the death of Mr. Milstead in March 1939. Early B. Milstead married Lena V. Hedrich of Blue Ridge, Texas, July 24, 1964. They have one daughter Holly Beth, born December 28, 1965. Mr. Milstead received his formal education from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, and Southern Methodist University, Dallas. He entered the real estate business in 1960. His work consists of real estate brokerage, appraisals, and counseling. He attends the Westside Church of Christ in McKinney, Texas, where he is a deacon, Bible school teacher, and served as chairman of the building committee. He is a member of the McKinney Rotary Club, a Knight Templar, a 32 degree Mason and Shriner. He serves on the board of governors of Collin Memorial Hospital, director of Town and Country Savings and Loan Association, chairman of the Collin County Democratic Executive Committee, and past president of the Collin County Board of Realtors. |
Lanie Milstead
Lanie C. Milstead, 86, of McKinney who died Friday morning at a local hospital will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Westside Church of Christ with Bro. Tom Gaumer officiating. Interment will be held in Ridgeview Memorial park Cemetery with Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home in Charge. She was born August 7, 1899 in Tennessee, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Theodore Sisco and married Early B. Milstead Sr., January 9, 1924 in McKinney. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ, the business of Professional Womens Club of McKinney and McKinney Chapter No. 518, Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one son Early B. Milstead, one granddaughter Hilly Beth Milstead, three brother W. M. Sisco of Temple, Paul Sisco of Lewisville and Jim Sisco of Tennessee and one sister Ruby Crawford of Dallas. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m.Saturday evening. Memorials may be made to the Westside Church of Christ Library. |
