Foncine - northeast of Frisco near present-day Eldorado Parkway
Foncine was northeast of downtown Frisco in west central Collin County near Farm Road 720, which later became Eldorado Parkway and Coit Road. The section of Coit Road in that area was known as Foncine Road.
The community was named for Foncine Fisher, the daughter of R. C. Fisher, who was the owner of the community's gristmill, gin, grain elevator, and general store.
The post office was opened on February 18,1895 with Rupert F. Reese as postmaster. It was discontinued November 30, 1901.
In the early 1900s Shelby Adams purchased the General Merchandise store there and had it moved to near FM720, present-day Eldorado Parkway, and Foncine Road, present-day Coit Road. He ran the store for over 40 years.
Children in the Foncine community attended school at Pleasant Ridge School near Rock Hill Road and Foncine Road.
