Abraham and his family moved to Lucas from Dallas County in 1900. He ran a cotton gin in the early years. He and his wife, Janette, were the parents of six children: Isabel, Pearl, Clifton, Evy, George and Johnny. Of the group, only George, who married Pearl McCormac of St. Paul, Collin County, and Johnny, who married Sadie Spears, stayed in Lucas. George died here in 1924. Johnny and his wife now live in the Akers homeplace.
