Her tombstone incorrectly shows her name as Elenor, as do the probate records in Collin Co., TX.
He was a son of Sally Hubbard and Joseph Jamison, and a first cousin of Sally Hubbard, wife of John Barnes – a brother of Nelly’s and Thomas’. (His mother was a sister of Durrett Hubbard, Sally’s father.) He was veteran a of the War of 1812. He was the Sheriff of Boone Co., MO from 1822 to 1826. In 1848 they moved to Collin Co., where they farmed 640 acres of land about nine miles northwest of McKinney. They are buried in the Ware Cemetery, Collin Co., Texas. (Collin County (Texas) Cemetery Inscriptions Vol. 1 by Pitts, 1975)
Shortly before her death, an oral will was recorded and later probated in Collin Co., in which she left all of her property to her son, Milton Homer, and his wife, Martha, upon their promise to care for his sister, Rebecca – who was born blind – for the rest of her life.
