Funeral services for Philip D. Buchanan, 89, of McKinney, who died Tuesday at HCA Wysong Medical Center, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Horn-Harris-Crouch Chapel with the Rev. Mike Haynes officiating. Interment will be in Cottage Hill Cemetery with Horn-Harris-Crouch funeral Home in charge of the services.
Buchanan was born March 14, 1897 in Waco, the son of the late John Thomas Buchanan and Elizabeth McCalley, and married Jewell Callaghan.
He was a veteran of World War I, member of the First United Methodist Church, and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his sister, Nina Moore of Dallas; brother, Neil Buchanan of Dallas; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Buchanan was a lifetime friend of Mrs. Anna Lacy and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell in 1953.
