Board - Jones House - McKinney
Located at 504 Tucker Street in McKinney.
BOARD-JONES HOUSE R. M. Board, a Civil War Veteran, built this Victorian house on land purchased I 1877. Construction of the house is believed to have begun in 1878. The house was purchased by W. M. Allen in 1898. Original materials were retained in a remodeling by a subsequent owner. Architecturally significant because of its architectural massing, multiple gables, and high peaked central roof, other significant features are original gingerbread, windows and the palladian window above the entry columns. Much of the original interior including stairs, molding, and trim remain. Large original oak trees and a variety of plants survive in the surrounding gardens and lawn areas.
