WILLIAM “BILL” HART

William “Bill” Hart passed away suddenly on July 1, 1998. God took you from us because your work on Earth was done. We know that you are now our Guardian Angel. You were the kindest, most gentle, loving man and for that we are truly blessed.
William was born in McKinney, Texas, on Jan. 6, 1921, to William Irvin and Ella Margaret Watkins Hart.
William graduated from Plano High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Army on April 30, 1942, at the age of 21. On Sept. 6, 1942 he was transferred to England and was promoted to P.F.C., and on Dec. 24, 1942, promoted to Corporal. He was transferred on Jan. 20, 1943, to North Africa and was promoted to Sergeant on Aug. 27, 1943. Later was transferred to Sicily and then to France in July of 1944. He was awarded the EAME Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead, and the God Conduct Medal. William was given Honorable Discharge on Sept. 23, 1945, and again was given Honorable discharge on Sept. 23, 1948. William was very proud to have served his country.
William retired from Ford Motor Company in 1976 and later retired from the Plano Independent School District. He was awarded for his dedicated services to the Boys and Girls Club of the Plano Public Schools from 1972 to 1987. He was awarded for outstanding and dedicated service by St. Andrew’s Chapel in December, 1990. William was a member of the Collin County Historical Society.
William was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He married Nola Faye Wilmeth on Oct. 10, 1949, in Durant, Okla.
To cherish is loving memory, sister, Mary Ruth Nelson, and children, Brenda Emerson, Mark Nelson and Danny Nelson. Sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Darrell Johnson and daughter Becky of McKinney. His granddaughter, whom he raised from birth, Donna Sue Polser, and husband Rickey, children Christopher and Jeffrey. Daughter, Karen Kay Johnson of Mt. Vernon, Texas. Granddaughter Patsy Bartlett and husband Randy, children Chrystal and Brandon of Trenton, Texas, granddaughter, Beverly Scott and family of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and grandson Darin Butler of Kentucky, and children. He was loved by his many aunts, uncles, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Hart, parents, Irvin and Ella Hart, sister, Erma Lee Hart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 4, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Family visitation, Friday, July 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fitzhugh Cemetery, Forest Grove Community.
