"The Honaker, and Robinson Families"
The Bickley and Honaker families, coming from England and Germany, settled in the Virginias early in the 1700s.
One Augustus Aston Honaker, continued his agricultural pursuits until 1867, when he set forth to establish a home in Texas. He proceeded to Collin County where he settled on a tract of land four miles distant from Farmersberg. There he developed a productive farm. He was joined by his sister and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tevis Bickley, who bought land and also were active pioneers in the development of what is now Farmersville, Texas.
In 1890, news reached Farmersville of good land at a good price in Wichita County. Augustus removed with his family in that year to that county where he purchased a tract of land 6 ½ miles northeast of Bever Switch. On his advice the Bickleys and Honakers of Farmersville joined him once again. George and W. B. Bickley bought land that merged with his. His sister, Mrs. Marion Tevis Bickley, came with her daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs F. C. Robinson. They purchased land in the Waggoner Colony, 9 miles Northeast of Beaver Switch, which was one of the first tracts sold by W. E. Waggoner. These three families together continued farming. He became a stockholder and director of the 1st State Bank of Electra.
The Honaker and Bickley farms were two of the first leased out to oil companies in the new field. Mrs. F. C. Robinson (better known as Aunt Matt), along with her sons Haynes and Emmett continued to farm and helped build the Barwise school and Church. They also opened their home to the circuit riders. Oil was also discovered on their farms and one of the largest wells discovered in Wichita County was theirs to claim."
Reuben Wright (1799 - 1875) married Mary Jane Rhodes (1806 - 1862) and had Thomas Jefferson Wright (1828 - 1900). He married Rebecca Crawford (1846 - 1887) from Farmersville. They had Elviria Wright ( September 18, 1872 Farmersville, TX - December 22, 1931 Vernon, Wilbarger County, TX). She married Samial Columbus Burns (April 22, 1869 Star City, Arkansas - October 9, 1948 Electra, TX.
