GOLDEN WEDDING IS CELEBRATED
Mrs. and Mrs. John H. Harrington celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at their country home, a few miles northwest of Plano Wednesday, October 24.
The doors of this hospitable home were thrown open to the relatives and friends of this honored couple from 3 to 5 in the afternoon and from 7 to 10 in the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Harrington’s parents were among the earliest settlers of Collin county.
Mr. Harrington is the son of the late Alfred Harrington and wife. Mrs. Harrington is a daughter of the late B. F. Matthews and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Harrington were the parents of four children: S. L. Harrington and John H. Harrington, Plano; Mrs. Mary Quisenberry and Mrs. Morris Griffin of Frisco. All the children were in the receiving line Wednesday afternoon. In the receiving line also was Hon. G. E. Carpenter of Plano. Mr. Carpenter was best man at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Harrington. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Harrington Mr. Carpenter is the only living member of the bridal party.
Mrs. Harrington is a sister of Mrs. Olney Davis of Plano, W. B. Mathews of Denton and of the late Mrs. D. J. Martin of this city.
The home was beautifully and artistically decorated with marigolds and chrysanthemums.

The guests were invited into the dining room where brick ice cream decorated with gold bell, was served with angel squares and gold mints. Misses Fanny Lee Harrington and Rebecca Harper had charge of the dining room. Little Misses Fanny Ruth Harrington and Mattie Palmer passed the mints.
