GEORGE, LUCAS
Biography.
Lucas (Luke) George was married December 30, 1840 to Nancy Forbes at Lebanon, Wilson County. They lived there several years coming to Texas in 1856 with 7 children. They settled five miles Northwest of McKinney where one more child was born. No one knows the exact date of their death’s but surmise it was around 1867 – both having died the same year of typhoid fever, and are said to be buried in the near by cemetery known as Scott.
They attended a Christian church where they were members in the Vineland Community. His motto was ( buy what you can pay for and no more.)
Their 8 children are as follows:
1. Elizabeth Jane, born December 3, 1841 – married James E. Carruth
2. Jeremiah (Jerry) George, born February 3, 1845 (single) Drowned 1865
3. Jerman H. George, born January 5, 1846 – married Sarah Ann Reed
4. S. Mead, born August 12, 1847 – married Robert (Bob) Weaver
5. Arthur F., born January 23, 1850 – married Mrs. America (Hightower) Carruth
6. Thomas A., born December 9, 1851 – married Frances Jane Reed
7. Mary Rachel, born October 5, 1855 – married Joe Abb Alexander
8. Crantrel F., born June 24, 1861 – married 1st Jennie Hixon, 2nd Minerva Driver
Elizabeth (Puss) and James E. Carruth are buried in the Warden Cemetery, also a single daughter Nola.
Jeremiah (Jerry) George, don’t know place of burial.
Jerman H. and Sarah (Sallie) George are buried in the Horn Cemetery beside their only son & daughter
S. Mead and (Robert) Bob Weaver are buried at Colbest Oklahoma.
Arthur F. and America George are buried near Blanket Texas at Moro Cemetery
Thomas A. and Jane George are buried at the Horn Cemetery beside their oldest girl Viola. Their only son William Dennis is buried at Van Alstyne City Cemetery.
Mary Rachel (George) Alexander is buried in the Cemetery North, Blanket, Texas while Joe Abb Alexander is buried in the cemetery at Commanche, Texas.
Cantrel F. George is buried in the old Mugg Cemetery north east of Weston, Texas. Jennie (Nixon) George his 1st wife is buried in the old family Forbes Cemetery. Minerva (Driver) George his 2nd wife is buried in the city cemetery at Van Alstyne, Texas.
Lucan George was remembered as the old man who rode an old grey mule, and led a sorrel to his wagon. He did not use lines to drive. He often went to market with eggs and butter to sell.

Merret, infant baby boy deceased, buried Warden Cemetery, Jesse deceased buried Cottage Hill, Levi, Lela deceased buried Cottage Hill, Georgia infant 2 years old deceased buried Warden Cemetery. Nora Howell and Creek Carruth both living near Weston.
(Docia) Theodosia Carruth married B. A. Comer, druggist at Weston. Both Deceased, buried Cottage Hill. Had 4 children. Ella B. Comer died at birth buried Warden Cemetery. Stella (Comer) Taylor, William (Bill) Comer deceased buried West Hill, Sherman, Agnes (Comer) Snelson.
Nola Carruth died single buried Warden Cemetery.
Jeremiah W. George was a Confederate soldier, drowned in East Fork Creek as he returned from a mission from Bonham, Texas. His body was recovered a month later by Elder R. C. Horn, burial place not known.
John H. George married (Sallie) Sarah Ann Reed. They lived northeast of Weston, Texas. They were parents of two children. Viola George died an infant and James Albert George age 21 died as a result from internal injury from trying to lift a bale of cotton. The Georges reared a nephew James A. Reed whose parents died when he was small. James A. Reed married Susie McNew and had these 3 sons: Leland, Royce and J. W. Reed. Susie now deceased buried Van Alstyne Cemetery, All the above George family was buried in Horn Cemetery.
Permelia George married (Bob) R. W. Weaver, both deceased m Permelia buried Rania, Oklahoma. (Bob) R. W. Weaver buried Durant, Okla. Have the following 10 children:

Vernon George married Ella Speck both deceased buried Brown Co. Had 3 children all of Brownwood Texas.
Callie W. George married Milton A. Wells. Callie W. Wells deceased buried Beeville, Texas. Milton A. Wells deceased 1 girl.
Thomas Alexander George married Frances Jane Reed. They lived northeast of Weston , Texas. Both deceased buried Horn Cemetery. They were parents of these 3 children:

William Dennie George married Rhoda F. Baker of Weston, Texas. Both deceased, buried Van Alstyne City Cemetery. They were parents of 2 daughters.
