Texarkana, Texas – Edward B. Estes, 75, of Texarkana, a former Dallas resident, died here Sunday.
A native of McKinney, Estes was a retired employee of the Cotton Belt Railway. He began his employment in Dallas with the Texas & Pacific Railway. In 1920, he joined the St. Louis Southwestern route of the Cotton Belt, working in St. Louis, Chicago and Blytheville, Ark.
A former El Paso resident, he had served as president of the El Paso Traffic Club. Estes, a Rotarian, was a member of the First Christian Church in Texarkana.
Survivors: Wife; a sister, Mrs. Louise Lindsey of Dallas, and a brother, Jack Estes of Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Texarkana Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney.
