Funeral services for Virgil Fisher, 91, of McKinney who died Friday at his residence, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Reverend Keith Francis officiating.
Interment will be in Pecan Grove Cemetery with Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in charge.
He was born July 28, 1894 in McKinney, Texas, the son of David and Jenny Scalf Fisher.
He was a member of one of the first pioneer Collin County families, a member of the East Christian Church, a farmer and a Veteran of WWI.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Lorene Fisher of McKinney, two daughter and son-in-laws, Ruth and John Tompkins of Denton and Dorothy and Edgar Hendricks of Texas City, one brother Ollie Fisher of McKinney, three sisters Rettie Douglas and Ellen Morgan both of McKinney and Maggie Watkins of Yantis, 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Zora Fisher, one son Jack L. Fisher, 1 grand-daughter-in law Lee Fisher and one great-granddaughter Susan Fisher.
