VIRGIL BIGGERS PASSES AWAY AT WEWOKA
OKLAHOMA LAWYER SERVED IN SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR IN McKINNEY COMPANY

Virgil R., lawyer of Wewoka, Oklahoma, formerly of Whitewright, and later of Dallas, died Sunday, February 27, after a long period of ill health.
Mr. Biggers in his young manhood was quite well known in McKinney where he came from Whitewright to join the McKinney Company in the Spanish-American War under the late Capt. James F. Rhea.
After the war, he became a successful practicing attorney, who lived most of his later life in the State of Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, three sons – Jim, Bill and Tom Biggers, and a daughter, Mrs. Emma Jane Howell.
Several of his old comrades in the Spanish-American War still live at McKinney and mourn the passing of this good friend and comrade of their younger days. They are W. R. Abernathy, Oll Stiff, Hugh Kirkpatrick, Fred G. Burnitt and Walter B. Wilson.
