Deceased, Native Of Hartsville, Tennessee, Came To Texas When Small Boy; Was Employed of W. W. Pruett Monumental Works For Many Years.
Joe A. Crump, 51 years, 9 months and 25 days old, passed away Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at him home, five miles Northwest of McKinney, after an illness of four months.
The deceased was born September 7, 1888, the son of Mr. J. B. and Loudie Crump, in Hartsville, Tennessee. He came to Texas when only a small boy and has resided in this state and county for 48 years. He was member of the Christian Church.
The deceased was an employee of the W. W. Pruett monumental works for many years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Crouch Funeral Chapel, Dr. Clifford S. Weafer, conducting. Burial was made in the Pecan Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were the following: Sims Cameron, Carlos Pruett, W. H. Long, Hugh Straughn, O. C. Stevens and L. Glenn.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Burtey Wilmeth Crump; two sons, Bryce Crump, and James Crump, at home; two sisters, Mr. Robert Franklin and Miss Mamie Crump of McKinney, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
