FUNERAL HELD OF J. T. GRUBBS AT 3 P.M. SATURDAY

Passed Away At His Late Home Near Plano Early Friday.
Funeral services for J. T. Grubbs, 32 years old, who died at his late home just south of Plano, Friday morning at 7:55 o’clock were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the family residence. Interment followed at the Spring Creek cemetery with the Keller & Crouch Funeral home of this city in charge.
The deceased has been in ill health since about two years ago, at which time he had a severe attack of pneumonia. He had been bedfast for the past nine months. He spent three months in a sanitarium at Kerrville, from which place he only recently returned after it was found that his condition had not improved.
The deceased was born in Shelby county, Texas, the son of the late T. J. Grubbs and wife, who have passed on to their reward, and who are buried at the old Frankford cemetery, west of Plano. He us survived by his wife and four children as follows: J. T. Grubbs Jr., Floyd, Hornby and Claudie Mae, all at home, the oldest being 14 years old.
The deceased is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: J. B. Grubbs, who resides on one of the Finch farms, northeast of the city in the Woodlawn community, S. A. Grubbs of Plano; Mrs. Alma Alexander of Marlow, Okla.; Mrs. Ola Murphy of Lavana, Okla.; Mrs. Tallie Higgenbotham of San Augustine, who is sick and unable to come here to attend the funeral of her brother.
The deceased was well known all over the county by a host of friends who deeply regret to hear of his sad passing. For many years he farmed on one of the Finch farms, northeast of this city. He also served as deputy sheriff of Collin county and as constable at Celina. A few years ago he was highway maintenance man of Collin county, which position he held for two years.
