Funeral services for Thurman Francis Bales, 76, of McKinney, who died Monday night in North Texas Medical Center will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Rogers and Rev. Vernon Clark officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home in charge.
He was born March 19, 1909 in Collin County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Riley Bales, and married Lora Ellen Akins, July 2, 1927 in McKinney.
Bales was a retired fireman with the McKinney Fire Department and a member of the East McKinney Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lora of McKinney; two daughters, Dorothy Parks of Irving and Jettie Houghton of Napa, Calif.; one sister, Bonnie Cantrell of Haltom City; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
