FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR JAMES L. FAGG

Funeral services were held at the Blue Ridge Methodist church Tuesday at 4 P. M. for James L. Fagg, age 57, who died at the McKinney City Hospital at 3:00 P. M. Monday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. Earl Patton of Sherman and Rev. Bryan Stevens, pastor. While Mr. Fagg had been in declining health for the past few years, his condition was not considered serious until about three weeks ago.
Mr. Fagg , the son of Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Fagg was born at Gray Hill, Texas December 21, 1885 and had resided in Blue Ridge for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church which was organized by his father, the late Rev. W. L. Fagg. Mr. Fagg was one of Blue Ridge’s business men, having been in the general merchandise business a number of years and later manager for the Farmer’s Co-Op Gin. At the time of his death he was manager of the Jim Fagg Gin of Blue Ridge. He was also a Woodman of the World and a Mason.
The deceased is survived by the following: his wife, the former Miss Esther Whited, four sons, James Noel Fagg of Madison, Wisconsin, W. M. and J. L. Fagg of Blue Ridge and William Fagg, somewhere overseas and one daughter, Miss Carmen Fagg. His mother, Mrs. M. E. Fagg, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Foster, Mrs. Hettye Manning and Mrs. Lucy Childress and three brothers, C. M. and J. W. Fagg of Blue Ridge and M. L. Fagg, Hattsfield, Arkansas and a number of nieces, nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were: R. R. Tilton, J. C. Stewart, T. M. Smoot, Carl Foster, Jimmie Akridge, Kemp McCarley and Jess Williams.
Mr. Fagg will be greatly missed in this community by his many friends.
