J. C. HENDON, 78, PASSES AWAY AT CELINA THURSDAY

Johnson C. Hendon, 78, of Celina, died at the home of his son, T. C. Hendon, of Celina, at 7:45 o’clock Thursday evening, after a four days illness of pneumonia. Mr. Hendon was born in Huntsville, Alabama, February 5, 1862. He had been a resident of this State 26 years, moving from San Antonio to Celina about six months ago.
He is survived by seven children: E. D. Hendon, Hot Springs, Arkansas; T. S. Hendon, Honey Grove, Texas; Tillman C. Hendon, Celina; Mrs. Gulenia Whitten, Blevis, Arkansas; Mrs. Dora Norton, Prescott, Arkansas; Mrs. Rena White, Port Arthur, Texas, and Mrs. Della Tanner, San Antonio; and twenty-four grandchildren.
His wife and one brother preceded him to the grave.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Chapel at Helms Funeral Home at Celina, with interment following in the Celina Cemetery. Rev. T. P. Weaver, Pastor of the Methodist Church of Celina, will conduct the services, with the Helms Funeral Home in charge
