Elsie Carpenter, 89, of Plano, passed away Jan. 7, 2002, at Medical Center of Plano. She was born June 14, 1912, in Allen, to Henry and Lelia Mae (Farrell) Miller. She married Olney Davis Carpenter on July 15, 1930, in Durant, OK. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, Plano.
She is survived by her son, Don Carpenter of Plano; grandchildren, Paul Tinsley of Kersey, CO, Robert Tinsley of Arvada, CO, and James Tinsley of Greeley, CO; brother, Thomas Miller of Florida; sisters, Mrs. Iva Morrow of Allen, and Mrs. Betty Taylor of Plano; several nieces and nephews; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olney Carpenter; daughter Noreen Tinsley Glover; and son, Robert Davis Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Grentz officiating. Interment will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery, Plano. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
