Fitzhugh's Regiment - Company B, 16th Texas Cavalry
FITZHUGH’S REGIMENT
Newspaper, 1906.
The following letter from Dr. D. M. Ray of Whitewright to Dr. J. W. Largent of this city explains a movement now on foot to secure the names of those who composed Fitzhugh’s regiment. The appended list comprises those whose names were known to Dr. Ray and tells whether they are living or dead, also the addresses of those who are living.
Many of them are living in McKinney, or had a residence here at one time, and the names will sound familiar to the older residents.
Whitewright, Tex., Dec. 4 —Dr. J. W. Largent, McKinney, Texas. Dear Doctor—I must tax you with another favor which I feel free to do after your kind offer.
It is this. I wish you to ask one or more of the newspapers in your city to publish the enclosed list free of charge, which I trust will be the means of securing other names and corrections.
I hope to meet you in Dallas next week. Again thanking you, I am, yours truly, D. M. Ray.
