DEATH OF YOUNG HUSBAND
On the 24th day of August the Death Angel visited and cast the saddest and darkest gloom over this little happy home, just four miles northwest of Celina, when the dear young husband and father, Earl Johnson, was claimed by death. Deceased was taken ill with typhoid fever just a week or ten days before, when hemorrages sets up, proving very suddenly fatal. Earl was a young man well beliked by all – old as well as young – who knew him. He formerly lived with his parents in this community for many years. Deceased was born April 2nd, 1889 and passed to his reward, August 24th, 1914. He was, therefore, 24 years, 4 months and 22 days of age. Earl was married to Miss Sadie Buchanan in October 1911. To this union was born two little daughters. Besides his young wife and two babies, he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Johnson, and three brothers and two sisters all of Durant, Oklahoma, except a sister, Mrs. Geo. Painter of Roseland. A host of other relatives and friends mourn his sad death. His remains were laid to rest n the Cottage Hill cemetery on Tuesday under the auspices of the Celina Woodmen Camp, of which he was a member. The many loved ones and relatives have the deepest sympathy of their many friends in their late loss, sorrow and bereavement.
