MRS. ALLIE GRIFFIN OF MELISSA PASSES AWAY HERE FRIDAY

Mrs. Allie Wysong Griffin, 85, of Melissa, passed away Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Wysong Hospital here. She had been in failing health for several years.
A life-long resident of the Melissa Community, she was born October 9, 1875, daughter of W. H. Wysong and Elizabeth Riffe Slaughter. She was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by one brother, Dr. W. S. Wysong, Sr., of McKinney and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband, H. H. Griffin, __ brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Griffin was quite prominent in the community life of Melissa, having belonged to the home demonstration club there. She was active in all phases of church life, and was a member of the Melissa Garden Club at the time of her death. She attended Baylor University, Waco and Texas Wesleyan College, Fort Worth, and for many years taught at Anna, Melissa and other schools in that area.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Saturday in the Crouch-Moore Chapel, conducted by Rev. Clyde Boyd, pastor of the Melissa Baptist Church, with interment in the Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews: George W. Moore, James H. Wysong, Sam Wysong, Dr. Charles S. Wysong, Dr.[missing]
