HEIFNER FAMILY
As reported by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Heifner of Lucas
Joe Heifner and Levonia Russell Heifner were both natives of Alabama. After Mr. Heifner died his widow and children moved from the above state to Collin County, Texas. They first settled east of Wylie, coming to the Lucas area in 1905.
Joe Heifner and Levonia Russell Heifner were the parents of seven children – 4 sons and 3 daughters, all of whom lived in the Lucas area and attended local schools. Their names:
Clinnie, who married Maud Moore of near Wylie (both deceased);
Mary, married Nealy Binkley of this area;
Beuliah, married John Jones of near Wylie;
Irby, married Pearl Jones of Winningkoff;
Jim, married Allie Saunders of this area;
Martin, married Nona Tomberlin of Lucas; and
Jodie, married L. T. Proffitt of Higgins community.
Of these Clinnie, Irby and Jim continued to live and reared their families in Lucas area, and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Heifner lived in Winningkoff many years, later moving to McKinney.
Clinnie Heifner and Maud Moore Heifner had one son, Earl, who married Elsie Fultz. They made their home in McKinney. (Earl Heifner is deceased.)
Irby Heifner (deceased) and Pearl Jones Heifner were the parents of seven children – 4 boys and 3 girls as follows: Lynas, Etherd, Weldon, Charles Ray, Mable Lois, Margie Nell, Dorothy. Most or all the children attended Lucas School, later the family moved to Allen.
Jim Heifner and Allie Sanders Heifner were the parents of two children: Estelle and Jimmie. Estelle married Orval (Cotton) Spurgin of Lucas. They are the parents of two daughters: Janet and Mary Helen, both students at North Texas State University. Janet now (1973) teaches in Plano.
Jimmy Heifner is not married and lives with his parents in Lucas.
Martin Heifner (deceased) and Nona Tomberlin Heifner are the parents of two children: Maurell, who married Iola Rolf of Winningkoff and Fay, who married Gene Dobbs of McKinney and continues to live there.
Maurell Heifner and Iola Rolf Heifner are the parents of two children: Bobby, who lives with his parents in Winningkoff (North Lucas) and Janelle. Janelle married Willis Joe King of Irving and the Kings live in that city.

The relatives of Mrs. Lavonia Heifner gathered at the home of her son, Irby Heifner, in the Blythes Chapel community, Sunday, August 1, for a family reunion. The following enjoyed the happy occasion: Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bonie and daughter, Eugena and Morrell Wright of Birmingham, Alabama; Mrs. Charles Scott and daughter, Mabel Claire, Childress, Texas; Will Lee and children, Dorothy, Mary Louise and Jimmie, Fort Worth; Grundy Russell and son Marvin, Renner; H. O. Barnwell, Bowie; Eugene Smith, Allen; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Heifner and children, Marilyn and Glen, and Mrs. Mary Binkley and daughter, Velma. Lavonia, Lela and Ora Lee, McKinney; Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Heifner and children, Maurell and Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Heifner and children, Estelle and J. L.; Mr. and Mrs. W. I.
