Faulkner - east of Allen
ON THE WING
(McKinney) Weekly Democrat Gazette, January 30, 1913
Personal Mention of People You Know by Our Field Man.
Owing to the inclement weather last Monday we did not venture out until Tuesday morning. While en route to Wylie we stopped on the way long enough to do a little missionary work among the non-readers of the Democrat-Gazette.
Faulkner.
P. H. Sexton is a young married man, but hasn't lost his mind yet. He borrowed a wheel from his near neighbor to subscribe for the Democrat-Gazette. Another good man who acted wisely.
J. .F. Snider is a native of East Tennessee but ten years ago decided Texas the place for him. With only nine children to work for, he will have plenty of time for rest and recreation. A dollar takes him fifty-two copies of the best paper published in Collin county, the Democrat-Gazette.
T. H. Williams is the oldest settler in this community, having located here in 1866. Born in Tennessee eighty years ago and twenty-six years later was married to Miss May Ann Simmons and to this aged and happy couple were born fifteen children, four having died. Mr. Williams was converted and united with the Missionary Baptist church when only twenty years of age and for sixty years has affiliated with that denomination. Mrs. Williams attached herself to the same church twenty-five years ago and with faltering steps incident to the infirmities of age, this Christian couple, with eyes of faith view the promised land upon whose shores stand four sweet children with open arms to embrace papa and mama. The Democrat-Gazette will make fifty-two visits to this Christian home.
